Classification of dental all-ceramic repair material

Commonly used high strength all-ceramic materials classified by material components are mainly silica-based ceramic and non-silica-based ceramic categories.

Former representative materials include feldspathic ceramics, enhancement of leucite crystals cast ceramic, casting of two lithium silicate whisker reinforced ceramics; the latter representation of material including glass infiltrated ceramic oxide series, dense sintered alumina ceramics, and dense sintering of yttria-partially-stabilized Tetragonal zirconia polycrystal ceramics class.

Zirconium oxide ceramics flexural strength of 1000MPa, is the tallest of all-ceramic materials, more than most of the strength of dental alloy, known as "ceramic steel", but the fracture toughness value below 10 Mpa • M1/2, dental alloy in more than 40 Mpa • M1/2, that is all-ceramic materials have a high bending strength, but brittle high.
